Long Time No Blog

Yikes! It's been months since we've blogged! Let me catch you up on Groovy and Monkey in the past few months... Groovy is HUGE. She's growing like mad and is actually heavier than Monkey, but shorter in a funny way. She's also getting really bold and approaches Stinky and starts fights with her. Ted and I think she'll be the alpha kitty soon. A couple of weeks ago we noticed Groove sitting on top of the litter box... She'd hang over and peek in and then sit back up so we knew someone was inside... a few minutes later Stinky started to come out of the litter box and the Groover attacked! Ambushed during personal time... just a little tacky if you ask me... and Stinky was NOT pleased. Groovy loves the litter box and spends ages in there digging and playing... weirdo... We've actually had a line of cats waiting for their turn before... but apparently the Groove doesn't wait. She did it to the Monk last night... and actually GOT INTO the box with her. She sat on top and hung her head it and yelled at Monks a few times before actually going in. We were just dying laughing! Monkey wasn't too thrilled with the lack of privacy though...

Speaking of The Monk... she does the weirdest thing. We've got food and water dishes that have "tanks" on them to hold the food and water and then let it into the bowl as needed. When Monkey was younger (she's just a year now, so this isn't too long ago) she would knock the water tower over all of the time... drove us nuts, you'd walk through the kitchen and get a wet foot all the time. We finally caught her, she'd stand on top of them and when she jumped off it knocked over so our solution has been to put a brick on top of the two bowls... and it works. She can't knock it over. However, if there's not enough food or water in the bowl she stands on the brick until you fill it. Cracks me up. Stinky and Groovy will annoy the heck out of you and yell at you to tell you there's no food... Monk does this:

Maybe it's just because she's my Monkey, but I think it's adorable. One time, when I didn't get the hint fast enough (I was getting dinner ready for us and was going to fill their bowls before I sat down for dinner) The Monk stood in front of the bowl with her paw in the empty water bowl and just stared at me until I noticed. I cracked up and fed and watered her before I set the table. She's so quiet but gets her point across!
